The jet-engine demonstrates thermal energy conversion
1. In the combustion chamber, pressurized air and fuel burn and generate very hot exhaust
gas (about 1800 Kelvin), which flows at low speed (about 40 meter/second) toward the chamber exit, and exits the combustion chamber and entering a convergent nozzle, which accelerates the exhaust gas to about Mach=1 (about 775 meter/sec) and temperature
of- 1500 Kelvin.
2. In the convergent nozzle, the hot gas accelerates while becoming colder, thus converting some of its own thermal energy into kinetic energy, according to Bernoulli's energy conservation law.
